Description

Here is a kit of parts for the Super Sudden Receiver project that featured in an article in Sprat Magazine, the journal of the GQRP Club. The PCB kit includes all the parts that go on the board, including the unusual pulse transformer. THE KIT DOES NOT INCLUDE A LOCAL OSCILLATOR NOR A FRONT-END FILTER. You need to obtain a stable VFO or DDS and a bandpass coupled pair of tuned circuits as a front end filter. The author of the Sprat article, Tex Swann, subsequently modified the circuit. This kit uses a PCB I laid out for the modified circuit and is supplied with a board component layout and matching circuit diagram. Included with the kit is 5 pages of text that incorporates much of the circuit description from the magazine article supplied to me by Tex as well as the circuit of the original Sudden Receiver by George Dobbs G3RJV from which this project is developed.
